UPTEC companies lead the way among the fastest-growing in Portugal
Ten out of the 50 technology companies featured in the “Technology Fast 50 Portugal” ranking are graduates of or currently incubated at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto.
This ranking, created by the Deloitte consultancy firm, aims to recognise and profile the 50 Portuguese technology companies that have achieved the greatest growth in revenue over three years, and that stand out for their positive impact on society. In the 2024 edition, the winning companies achieved an aggregate turnover of 520 million euros.
Of the graduate companies, Coverflex stands out, having reached third place with growth of more than 10,000%, as well as Knok, Addvolt, Xhockware and Nonius. Also in the ranking are Barkyn, Jscrambler, Tangível, Present Technologies and Redshift, all startups currently incubated at UPTEC. The UPTEC companies featured in the ranking have seen growth of over 1100% on average.
In addition to the 10 startups featured in the ranking, Veronica Orvalho, CEO of Didimo, was also distinguished in the “Women in Leadership” category, while Promptly was one of the winners of the “Rising Star Award”, chosen in conjunction with Startup Portugal to reward companies that lead through innovation with results already achieved.
Technology Fast 50: UPTEC takes home “Venture Champion Award”
The strong presence of companies incubated at UPTEC in the “Technology Fast 50” was also worth the “Venture Champion Award”, which aims to recognize the incubator or accelerator that has demonstrated excellence by supporting the largest number of companies distinguished by the Deloitte ranking.
“This recognition is a celebration of the collective impact of the companies incubated at UPTEC and the quality of our ecosystem”, says Maria Oliveira, UPTEC’s executive director. “The Venture Champion Award reaffirms our commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and supporting projects that make a difference in Portugal’s technological and business landscape”.
In 2023, eight UPTEC companies featured in this ranking, with Addvolt and Knok making it to second and third place.
