Intuitivo, a startup incubated at UPTEC—Science and Technology Park of U. Porto, won the Web Summit‘s Startup Competition 2024. The company was chosen by the public and the experts on the jury from among more than 100 startups.

Intuitivo is an EdTech company whose mission is to support educational institutions in their digital transformation, increase teacher productivity and improve the student experience.

Founded by João Guimarães, Duarte Oliveira and Diogo Silva amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the company is already responsible for digitizing the assessment tests in Portugal. The startup wants teachers to spend more time teaching and less time assessing, through a digital assessment platform for teachers focused on improving the assessment process in schools.

João Guimarães, CEO and founder of the company, says that this award “doesn’t change much; it’s about continuing our work to keep growing and following our path,” yet he considers it “great recognition.”

The Web Summit jury singled out the startup for “wanting to be a teacher’s best friend”. In addition to the UPTEC startup, Scoutz and GovGPT were the other finalists from the 105 companies at this edition of the Web Summit.

Intuitivo is the second UPTEC startup to win this competition. In 2021, Smartex also won the Startup Competition through António Rocha’s pitch.
