Black Drop Biomedical is an international biotechnology company, a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University, with hubs in Portugal and Germany. We develop the next generation of 3D bioprinting technologies to empower scientists and researchers to address humanity’s most pressing health challenges. Our portfolio combines modular 3D bioprinters, advanced bioprinting software, innovative bioinks, and organ-on-chip technology, enabling the creation of realistic, animal-free tissue models. These solutions accelerate drug discovery, preclinical research, and personalized medicine, while cutting costs, reducing timelines, and avoiding animal testing. With a strong interdisciplinary team, close collaborations with leading European research institutes, and active involvement in international consortia, we merge scientific excellence with real-world impact.
