UPTEC strengthens partnership with the EDP Energia Solidária 2025

edp Energia Solidária

For the second year, UPTECPorto’s Science and Technology Park partners with the EDP Energia Solidária 2025 programme, promoted by the EDP Foundation, to support social projects focused on fair and sustainable energy transition. The programme aims to assist vulnerable communities and foster innovative solutions in energy inclusion, energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable mobility, natural heritage protection, and climate action.

Applications are open from April 1 to May 31, 2025, and can be submitted by private entities (for-profit and non-profit), schools, and public educational institutions. Selected projects may receive up to €100,000 in funding, possibly covering up to 75% of costs for non-profit entities.

The programme will hold an information session on March 31, to support applicants and in-person workshopsthroughout April and May. These sessions will focus on how to structure proposals and meet application requirements. Projects will be evaluated based on social impact, innovation, target audience, and sustainability criteria.

Since its inception, the EDP Energia Solidária program has invested around €19 million, supporting 430 projects across the country and benefiting over 1.5 million people. In 2024, the program allocated €1 million to 13 new projects in Portugal, reinforcing its social and environmental impact.
