UPTEC startups again in the spotlight at Web Summit 2024
The UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of U. Porto ecosystem will once again be strongly represented at Web Summit 2024. The event, which takes place in Lisbon from November 11 to 14, will be attended by over a dozen startups integrated into UPTEC.
Granter.ai, Plantz, Intuitivo, Tagpeak, Wiseworld, Interpretica, Onedash, Papayya, connected and Agit are the startups from the UPTEC community chosen through the Road 2 Web Summit. The joint initiative between Startup Portugal and Web Summit selected the best young startups to represent Portugal at the world’s biggest technology event.
In addition to the companies from the community, Pedro Pinto, Head of Business Development – Tech at UPTEC, will also be at the Web Summit. Pedro Pinto is one of the speakers on the Launch of Portugal’s Ranking of Entrepreneurial Universities ’24 panel, promoted by Startup Portugal, which takes place on November 13 at 14:40 in Pavilion 1.

Plantz was created to inspire people to move towards healthier and more sustainable food. The FEUP spin-off manufactures strictly plant-based, chef-to-consumer-ready meals that use deep-freezing technology to preserve the good texture and nutrients of each meal. The result is a tasty, easy, and convenient plant-based diet.
Intuitivo, which will take part in the PITCH | Startup Competition at Web Summit 2024, is an edtech startup whose mission is to assist educational institutions in their digital transformation, increase teacher productivity and improve the student experience. The startup has created an innovative digital platform that is used by teachers, schools and other institutions to facilitate and improve the student assessment process.
Granter.ai has created artificial intelligence technology for financing and investment. The startup’s mission is to enable companies of all sizes to use incentives to grow and innovate.
Tagpeak is an e-commerce platform where consumers can buy technology products. It includes an entirely different Cash Rewards Club, which allows its members to receive up to 100% of the amount spent back. Tagpeak introduces a revolutionary shopping rewards model by investing profits and sharing any winnings with its customers.
WiseWorld helps employees practice, make mistakes, and improve their soft skills daily. It also provides objective and factual data so that managers can make informed decisions about their team’s human skills.
Interpretica develops tools for intelligent static language-agnostic analysis that can check complete software solutions with all their dependencies and subprojects in a single context, discovering subtle defects and vulnerabilities between modules. The analyzer finds violations in the architecture before they become real problems.
Onedash wants to make security affordable, simple and effective for all companies, regardless of size. Founded to address the unique challenges faced by startups, scaleups and small and medium-sized businesses, Onedash offers cyber security designed for fast-growing companies that need to stay protected without a lot of resources or complex processes.
Papayya is an online personal trainer service that offers personalized live workouts with qualified trainers — anywhere, anytime. Sessions can be in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Certified trainers will provide real-time feedback and correct exercise techniques during sessions to ensure that clients get the most out of each workout.
CONNECTED is a space startup created to develop IoT connectivity solutions in remote areas. The company aims to connect humanity affordably, promote a new generation of IoT-based business models, and eliminate network limitations in remote areas. To achieve this vision, CONNECTED intends to develop a new satellite constellation capable of providing standard, global, accessible, uncomplicated, and low-bandwidth connectivity optimized for low-cost and low-power solutions.
Agit, a U. Porto spin-off, has developed technology that uses a phone camera to recognize physical exercise in real-time. Unlike other apps, the AGIT app can perceive and validate physical exercise while the user is training, giving them more personalized feedback. It also enables a community training experience, social sharing, and more authentic competitions.
UPTEC startups will again be at the world’s most significant technology and innovation conference from November 11 to 14 in Lisbon.
