The existing ferry market is 2.1 billion passengers per year. That’s as large as the commercial airline industry. The natural infrastructure of rivers, lakes, and coastal waterways is ready for more. We just need to unlock them.
PROBLEM
MobyFly boats use the waterways to transport passenger more comfortably, faster, and more efficiently. Our solutions make the ferry business more economically sustainable, with less impact to the environment. If there is a waterway, our boats are more sustainable then automotive and train alternatives.
SOLUTION
Our boats are equipped we a series of smart technologies focused on the operation efficiency, speed, and comfort. Our boats fly over the water, using hydrofoils to lift the hulls out of the water, greatly reducing the boat consumption. Hydrofoils allow navigation at high speed with high efficiency, and make the use of electrical powertrains viable.
Our electrical powertrain is by definition zero emissions, quieter, and more efficient that standard powertrains, allowing trips close to 100 km without recharging. Our specially designed motors take full advantage of operating in the water to operate coolly and efficiently. The battery can take a full recharge cycle in about 40 minutes.
Our electronic systems fly the boat automatically, making as easy to operate as any other boat. The additional automation technologies bring it close to self-driving, allowing the crew to focus on the surrounding environment and on the passengers.
Our systems have a deep telemetry network, allowing our data management system to optimize the boat and the fleet operation, its maintenance schedule and costs, and maximize the systems operation life.
