Lusa’s mission, as the sole Portuguese national news agency, is the gathering and processing of news and information, the production and distribution of news to a wide range of users (national and international media organizations, private and public sector organizations of all kinds) and the supply of a public information service to the Portuguese State. In addition to the public interest, the principles that guide activities and conduct within the organization are clarity, accuracy, impartiality, plurality of information, timeliness, quality and teamwork.
