Hyper Global x Hyper Local: open call for applications
Hyper Global x Hyper Local: open call for applications
Hyper Global x Hyper Local is inviting makers to explore what it means to be both connected physically to local contexts and digitally at a global scale when travel and physical exchanges are not possible. The call is addressed to makers, including creative professionals who produce work and projects using technology and/or traditional tools and methods, artists, craftspeople, sculptors and textile designers.
The call is open to international teams joined by a common goal, project and/or purpose to explore during the exchange, whilst incorporating new formats for collaborative working and presentation. With respect to the current circumstances and state regulations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme will support 10 online exchanges, which are scheduled to take place in February of 2021.
The format of the exchange is open and participants have the freedom to co-develop the program of their exchange and propose their ideas, focusing either on prototyping, skills and knowledge transfer or personal and professional development. A budget of €1000 for the production of the online exchange project will be available for each participating team. In addition, the project will provide the applicants with the option to request mentorship from experts, ready to provide their insights and contribute to the co-creation of each team’s proposed project during the exchange. Applications are open until the 4th of January 2021!
Hyper Global x Hyper Local is part of Makers’ eXchange (MAX), a pilot policy project, co-funded by the European Union, led by the European Creative Hubs Network in partnership with Fab Lab Barcelona, UPTEC and Makery, that aims to define and test policies and actions supporting the mobility and exchanges of experience between the cultural and creative industries, creative hubs, maker-spaces, fab-labs and formal and non-formal learning and skills development systems in a cross-sectoral way and embed makers’ mobility schemes for skills development and inclusion into mainstream CCIs support programmes, policies and ecosystems across Europe.
