Founded in 2004, Solenix is an international company specialised in software engineering, consulting services, and software products for the space sector, with a strong focus on the ground segment. The company employs close to 100 professionals and serves major institutional and commercial customers, including the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), as well as other national agencies and space companies. Solenix is represented across four European locations, with its headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany, and subsidiaries in Frascati, Italy; Biel, Switzerland; and Porto, Portugal. This international presence allows Solenix to work in close proximity to key European space institutions while remaining agile, responsive, and customer-focused. Driven by innovation, Solenix continuously develops advanced technologies and concepts by staying at the forefront of technical progress. The company actively promotes spin-in and spin-out activities, delivering modern solutions that complement and enhance conventional practices. Customer satisfaction lies at the core of Solenix’s approach, supported by close collaboration and a high degree of operational flexibility. Solenix’s engineering and consultancy services are highly specialised across three core domains within the ground segment: spacecraft operations, Earth observation & downstream applications, and artificial intelligence. In November 2025, Solenix started its business activities in Porto, Portugal. Through this expansion, the company aims to create value for the local space ecosystem, integrate Portuguese talent into major European programmes and missions, and further develop and promote its products with and for Portuguese organisations.
