UPTEC wants to help startups “get funded” with new workshop cycle
UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto has just launched a totally free programme focused on attracting investment for startups. Over six sessions, taking place in June, July and September 2025, ‘Get Funded’ aims to cover all the stages of fundraising through a structured and comprehensive approach.
Aimed at founders and teams of startups with projects capable of raising investment, each workshop will feature expert training on topics ranging from preparing financial documentation and negotiating a term sheet, to pre-seed, seed and initial venture capital rounds and a successful exit negotiation. In addition, at the end of the sessions, participants will have the opportunity to attend round table discussions with investors, startup founders and business developers with real experience in attracting investment at all stages.
The first session of the programme, entitled ‘Funding Fundamentals’, will feature Sofia Santos (Faber Ventures) and contributions from André Miranda (Musiversal) and Luis Valente (iLof), in a round table moderated by João Afonso, Business Developer at UPTEC. It will take place on 18 June, starting at 11.00am, in the Franuhofer Auditorium in the UPTEC Asprela I building, and there is also the possibility of attending remotely.
With additional sessions led by names such as Ricardo Luz (Invicta Angels), Hugo Ramos (Beta Capital) and Maria Morais (Circklo), the programme will conclude in September with a workshop dedicated to the mindset and strategy of long-term fundraising.
You can register for the ‘School of Startups: Get Funded’ sessions via this link, where you can also find more information about each session. Participants who complete the entire cycle of workshops will receive a certificate of participation in the programme.
