UPTEC returns with strong presence at SIM Conference
UPTEC will have a strong presence at SIM Conference 2025, which takes place on 8 and 9 May at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Centre. The second edition of this conference, which has established itself as one of the largest innovation and investment meetings in Portugal, will once again bring together startups, entrepreneurs and leading investors from all over the world. With a strong involvement in the organisation of the initiative, UPTEC is also present in the showroom, and with various speakers from the team and the community.
On the first day of the event, members of the team – including Inês Morgado, Raphael Stanzani, Francisca Eiriz, João Afonso and Pedro Pinto – take part in various round tables in sessions on funding for the cultural and creative industries, inclusive internationalisation strategies, gender bias in branding and the role of women investors in the ecosystem.
UPTEC’s presence at SIM Conference 2025 is reinforced by the participation of several startups from the community. João Guimarães (Intuitivo), Márcia Pereira (Bandora), Humberto Pereira (Rows) and Verónica Orvalho (Didimo), all founders of startups incubated at UPTEC, will share their journeys and technological solutions on the main stage. Speakers from the UPTEC community will also include José Bastos (Knok) and Miguel Santo Amaro (Coverflex), both leaders of companies that have graduated from UPTEC.
HerFund project in the spotlight at SIM Conference
One of the main focuses of UPTEC’s presence at SIM Conference 2025 will be the European project HER Fund – Training Programme for Startups and Investors. This project, coordinated by UPTEC in Portugal, promotes gender equality in entrepreneurship and will be highlighted on several fronts at the event. On the main stage, Anne-Charlotte, founder of WonderFund and coordinator of the HER Fund, will present the project’s training programme, an initiative that supports female founders and investors with an awareness of gender inequality through mentoring, coaching and inclusive growth methodologies.
Throughout the two-day event, the HER Fund project will have its own stand in the exhibitors’ area, where attendees will be able to learn more about the work and projects underway. It is also promoting the Women Cocktail, an informal networking event that brings together founders, leaders and investors from the European entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The SIM Conference 2025 features leading names such as Sacha Michaud (Glovo), Marcelo Lebre (Remote), Sharon Goldstein (Amplify+) and Diogo Mónica (Anchorage Digital). The organisation expects an even more diverse and active international audience.
