UPTEC launches paid internship programme for Master’s and PhD students

UPTEC has opened applications for the STEP-UP – Startup Training & Experience Programme, a new internship programme designed for Master’s and PhD students in technology, science, and cultural and creative industries. The internships will begin in May 2025, with applications for the first call open until April 30th.

The programme offers a paid (€9/hour), hands-on experience within UPTEC’s Business Development team, lasting from six to twelve months with a commitment of one day per week. Interns will directly contact with emerging startups, assisting with their integration, growth, and connection to the innovation network.

Throughout the internship, participants will collaborate on various tasks, from supporting entrepreneurial projects and helping with applications for incentives to data analysis, trend research, and organising events and networking sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to have real experience in the world of startups, with access to mentoring and a strong learning component.

Candidates must be enrolled in a master’s or PhD programme and demonstrate motivation, proactivity, and a passion for entrepreneurship. Applications should include a one-page cover letter and a brief CV sent to direcao@uptec.up.pt.
