UPTEC startup raises €1 million to boost wine tourism in Portugal

Winalist, a startup recently incubated at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, has completed a €1 million funding round, marking the start of its activity in Portugal.

Founded in France in 2019, Winalist has created an online platform that connects travellers from around the world to wine tourism experiences at wineries and distilleries across Europe. The platform allows users to book directly with partner wineries and distilleries, offering immersive tours, tastings, excursions and stays in the main wine regions. The startup’s mission is to make wine tourism more accessible, authentic and connected, both for producers and travellers.

This year, Winalist has arrived in Portugal and chosen UPTEC for its national headquarters, where it intends to strengthen its presence and increase operational support to local partners and boost the international visibility of Portuguese wine tourism.

“Portugal is one of the most promising wine destinations in Europe and we are proud to consolidate our expansion here, with the support of visionary partners”, said Nicolas Manfredini, CEO of Winalist. “This funding round not only accelerates our growth, but also reinforces our commitment to building sustainable and authentic wine tourism in collaboration with local producers”.

With more than 1,700 partners in 10 countries, the company already collaborates with over 200 family wineries and producers in Portugal, including Soalheiro, Quinta do Vallado, Graham’s Port Lodge, Taylor’s, Fonseca Port Wine Cellar, WOW Cultural District, Adega de Borba, Casa Relvas and Quinta do Noval.
