Build.ing continues on the path of achievements, having been one of the eight startups that competed in the European final of ClimateLaunchPad, the largest cleantech competition in the world. The startup incubated at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto was one of the eight chosen to participate in the European final of the program that seeks the best innovative climate technologies.

The startup participated in the European semi-final of ClimateLaunchpad to reach the final stage, which featured 42 companies from 17 countries. In addition to Build.ing, Simby and Santa Farm Technology competed, respectively 1st and 2nd classified in the Portuguese edition of the competition.

Among the 42 startups, Build.ing was one of the eight business projects chosen to compete in the European final of the competition – which took place on November 17 – by presenting the online platform for the design of the most efficient buildings, in the design phase, for the construction industry.

build.ing focuses on creating more efficient buildings in the design phase for the construction industry. The online platform for constructive design works in an integrated way with architectural and structural skills, using artificial intelligence and engineering and architecture techniques to create models and studies of energy performance with materials with diverse ecological footprints.

Build.ing’s performance in this European final thus becomes one of the most fruitful by the Portuguese startups that participated in this global competition, which was also played in the African, Asian and American continents.

Since the inception of this competition in 2014, nearly 14,000 business ideas from 59 countries worldwide have applied to ClimateLaunchPad. In Portugal, the program – which has been coordinated by UPTEC since 2016 – has already received more than 150 applications, supported more than 80 teams and more than 180 participants. In addition, Portugal also has three international winners: Pavnext, Eco2blocks e Mudatuga.
