UPTEC brings interactive activities to European Researchers’ Night
UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto will be present at the European Researchers’ Night 2025, which will take place on 26 September at i3S – Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, with activities that bring science, innovation and entrepreneurship closer to audiences of all ages.
European Researchers’ Night is an annual event that brings researchers and citizens together at national level, promoting dialogue and knowledge sharing. In Porto, the 2025 edition will feature more than 45 demonstration stands and experimental activities, organised by various scientific institutions in the region, offering experiences in various scientific topics.
One of UPTEC’s initiatives will be the mural ‘Could this discovery be a startup?’, where visitors will be able to explore real scientific discoveries and how these innovations can be applied in everyday life and transformed into businesses. At the end, they will get to know some of UPTEC’s startups and entrepreneurs who have turned their discoveries into real businesses.
For younger visitors, the startup Junicoders, incubated at UPTEC, will host the workshop ‘Save the Planet!’, an introductory programming session for children aged 7 to 12, with registration now open. The activity uses the PictoBlox platform to challenge participants to create an interactive game in which they control a character who scores points by making the planet cleaner and greener.
Participation in the European Researchers’ Night activities is free and open to the public. The full programme for the 2025 edition can be found here.
