Rows acquired by Superhuman
Rows, a startup incubated at UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, has just been acquired by Superhuman, a company operating in the field of productivity tools, with products covering areas such as project management, email and writing correction.
Founded in 2016 by Humberto Ayres Pereira and Torben Schulz, Rows has developed an online spreadsheet platform that stands out for its ability to integrate with a variety of digital services and tools. In addition to offices in Porto and Berlin, where around 50 people work, the startup has over 2 million users.
By this year, Rows had already raised more than €30 million in investment, notably a €9 million round secured in 2024. “Superhuman is one of the leaders in the software productivity space, with AI tools such as Grammarly, Coda, Superhuman Mail and Go. When we spoke to them, there was enormous synergy between our way of working and theirs, and our experience in data problems”, explains Humberto Ayes Pereira, co-founder of Rows.
The startup’s founders will remain connected to the organisation, managing the Rows teams that will now work on data and productivity problems, leveraging their expertise in the field of AI.
“Superhuman already has several European teams in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, and now in Porto. It is a validation of Portuguese talent and effort”, concludes Humberto Ayres Pereira.
