SUMMARY
OXIR Healthcare is a digital occupational health platform for high-risk industrial companies. It combines a multilingual AI app for workers, a clinical management tool for occupational health teams, and a WhatsApp AI Agent, generating the data needed to power a predictive occupational risk algorithm. Live since 2024, with clients in aeronautics and agri-food industries, OXIR is scaling globally from Porto.
PROBLEM
Occupational health in industrial settings is reactive and fragmented. Health risks are identified too late, occupational diseases are underdiagnosed, and clinical and administrative processes lack continuity — creating gaps that compromise both worker safety and regulatory compliance.
OXIR addresses this on three levels: workers get 24/7 AI-powered health guidance in their own language; clinical teams gain a structured digital workflow that captures longitudinal health data at scale; and companies gain visibility over workforce health risks before they become accidents, absenteeism, or disease. The ultimate goal is a predictive occupational risk scoring algorithm that anticipates health problems before they impact people or operations — shifting occupational medicine from reactive care to true prevention.
SOLUTION
OXIR operates as an integrated occupational health ecosystem built on three interconnected layers. The worker-facing AI app uses a RAG-based large language model to deliver personalised, multilingual occupational health guidance across six languages.
Workers interact naturally, receive triage-based responses, and are escalated to clinical teams when needed. The WhatsApp AI Agent extends this reach to workers on the channel they already use daily. The clinical platform supports occupational physicians and nurses in managing the full administrative and clinical workflow: scheduling, medical fitness assessments, regulatory compliance, and structured health data capture. Every interaction feeds a growing longitudinal dataset. This dataset is the foundation for OXIR’s core product in development: a predictive occupational risk scoring algorithm capable of identifying patterns of occupational disease before they manifest — enabling companies to move from reactive care to genuine prevention.
The impact is measurable across three dimensions: for workers, faster access to medical guidance and earlier disease detection; for clinical teams, reduced administrative burden and better continuity of care; for companies, lower absenteeism, reduced occupational disease costs, and a defensible compliance record.
