How many times have we walked on the beach and seen a piece of plastic and pretended we didn’t see it because it wasn’t ours? How many times have we moved some plastic away while swimming in the sea? We have all done this at some point in our lives.Until we were on the beach with our two year-old son, and he, like any other child his age, began to put in his mouth whatever he found in the sand. That’s not the legacy we wanted to leave.Currently, there are 150 million tons of plastic in the ocean. It is estimated that every minute the equivalent of a garbage truck is discharged into the sea.We, humans, might be the problem, but we are also the ones who have the hope and the solution. And so we could not stand still. After a lot of research, we found a solution, and it is easy to participate. We have created a brand of sneakers, made of plastic collected from the ocean by fishermen and transformed into a textile yarn, made by Portuguese artisans, and customized by the client. Each pair of sneakers contains approximately half a kilo (1lb) of plastic, corresponding to 36 plastic bottles.Right now we are producing Certified Masks, handbags, bags and apparel. It has never been easier to help the planet.
