Simby’s focus will be on the development and management of a platform for the transaction, management and monitoring of e-waste (waste electrical and electronic equipment), promoting a reduction in costs and an increase in revenue for producers and access to a greater number of opportunities for recyclers. The platform will also provide other services to its users, such as databases with the composition of equipment, quotation of metals present in that equipment, life cycle analysis, impact measurement, contacts of logistics partners, among other activity support services. By making the purchasing and selling of WEEE more dynamic, simple and transparent, simby will promote an increase in the recycling rate of this equipment, thus minimizing the risks of environmental pollution caused by the inappropriate routing of electronic equipment. The databases that simby will make available to its users (such as data on the composition of equipment and metal prices) will directly contribute to making WEEE producers aware of the advantages of correctly disposing of their waste and, thus, promoting sustainable and reducing polluting activities. simby will boost the WEEE purchase and sale sector, facilitating the reuse, recycling and recovery of valuable metals present in the composition of this equipment, thus promoting the circular economy. The platform will encourage the creation of new business opportunities for recyclers, extending the useful life of materials and reducing the need to extract natural resources. simby will also provide its users with services such as impact measurement and life cycle analysis, thus supporting its users to promote practices that encourage respect for the environment and compliance with legislation. With these services, support will also be provided to comply with EU Taxonomy Regulation (EU) 2020/852.
