Forest GAP is the first Portuguese carbon capture and storage (CCS) company, with the mission of creating the first Portuguese biomass carbon sink using the abundant forest residues generated by the forestry sector. This innovative CDR pathway has the potential to capture 1,800,000 tons of CO2eq per year in Portugal, contributing to both wildfire prevention and mitigation in Portugal and to the global effort to fight Climate Change. Forest Gap’s vision is to scale and optimise this CDR technology, enabling companies to meet their Carbon Neutrality targets by 2050.
