The fourth edition of Empowering Women in Agrifood is heading towards its culmination, with the national final of the competition, and the pitch day, scheduled for November 8th, in Lisbon, at the HF Fénix Lisboa Hotel.

The EIT Food program implemented in Portugal with the collaboration of UPTEC – Science and Technology Park of U. Porto, and Portuguese Women in Tech (PWIT), welcomed ten women entrepreneurs dedicated to projects in the agrifood sector, and has eight experienced mentors that support them through a personalized program that started in July this year.

Over these six months, these ten entrepreneurs have various training and networking opportunities available, as they prepare for the event on November 8th. The Masterclass on September 12th marked the beginning of the group sessions, which provided essential tools for the end of the competition.

Previously, they had meetings where they learned about press relations and the production of press releases, and where they analyzed the preparation of their business models in terms of receiving funds and investment, as well as the best methods of selling the services they intend to sell.

Sessions are scheduled for the coming weeks, where case studies of startups that participated in past editions of EWA will be detailed, ending with two days dedicated to preparing the presentation for the pitch day on November 8th.

Empowering Women in Agrifood provides an inclusive environment for entrepreneurs to explore and share their journey, support each other, create synergies and strong bonds within the community, with the primary objective of all of them developing their businesses and projects and achieving sustainable growth in the long term.

The winners of this fourth edition of Empowering Women in Agrifood will compete in the European final at the EWA 2023 Summit, which will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, on December 1st, 2023.

Supported by the EU, EIT Food invests in projects, organisations and individuals that share goals for a healthy and sustainable food system.
