Professor Doutor Jorge Gonçalves, Director
Jorge Gonçalves graduated in 1985 in Pharmaceutical Sciences by the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto, received a doctorate in pharmacology in 1991 from the University of Porto and post-doctorate from the University of Freiburg. In the Faculty of Pharmacy was Director of the Department of Pharmacology (since 1995) and Chairman of the Board (2001-2005). Between July 2006 and May 2009, Jorge Gonçalves was President of IRICUP. He is Vice-Rector of the University of Porto since July 2006, responsible for R&D and Innovation, and is responsible for the activities of the office of technology transfer from the University of Porto (UPIN). He also represents the University of Porto in several business incubators and UPTEC, the Science and Technology Park of University of Porto.
His areas of scientific interest are the neurochemical (neuronal communication) and the expression of mammals’ proteins in yeast, for subsequent use as models for pharmacodynamics studies and the study of protein-protein interactions.

Clara Gonçalves, Executive Manager
Clara Gonçalves (Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Science of University of Porto) is the Executive Advisor of UPTEC - Park of Science and Technology of University of Porto. Assumed a coordinating role of R & D projects in the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries and was Marketing Manager at the Chamber of Agriculture of the North. Did the Master of Innovation, Knowledge and Technology at the University of Aveiro, specializing in Management of Knowledge Networks. Also played for four years, an advisory role in Quality Management in Industry in Portugal, Africa and Latin America.
