The Technology Center of the Park of Science and Technology of University of Porto (UPTEC TECH) aims at the promotion and validation of business oriented projects, based on the knowledge and skills generated within the University of Porto, and also resulting from the cooperation between University, Industry and Private Businesses. To do so, UPTEC offers a range of equipment and technological infrastructure that will promote the development and accelerate their projects.

The strategy also involves the installation of innovation centers (national and international) oriented to the development of new products and services to market, based on technology and knowledge transfer, working with the incorporation of highly qualified and skilled human resources.

At present, this center includes 37 companies and innovation centers that work on technological areas as vast as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, chemical, energy, energy efficiency, polymers and composite materials, information and communication technology, monitoring and robotics, telecommunications, georeferencing, etc..

Finally, the Technological Center has the largest infrastructural area of all centers and assumes the central management of UPTEC. It also has a prime location along with the University, where they are located some of the most relevant schools and institutes for R & D of University of Porto (Faculty of Engineering, INESC Porto, INEGI, IPATIMUP, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Sport, etc.).
