SAport - Engineering and Food Safety, Ltd. is a company specialized in Quality, Nutrition and Food Safety consultancy for the Agro-Food Sector. The company was first born in the School of Biotechnology from the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto, and currently holds its main offices at UPTEC – University of Porto and also at INOVISA –Technical University of Lisbon.
SAport’s resources are based on a multidisciplinary team that works in coordination with technical graduates in Agro-Food Engineering, Biological and Biotechnology Engineering, Microbiology, Nutrition, Food Quality and Veterinary. SAport adds value to its services by incorporating information technology in order to provide differentiation to its customers and ensure good management and organization of their companies.
SAport’s mission is to provide a set of innovative tools and services that support food businesses in the effective management of quality, safety, technology and innovation of their products and services. Nonetheless, SAport helps its clients on the re-establishment, guidance and development of their business, making thus able to meet the challenges of the competitive market, ensuring their legal and functional sustainability.
The scope of SAport is divided into four main components: SAport Retail Consulting with a major performance at the retail market; SAport Industry Consulting focused in the agro-food industries; Saport Nutrition Consulting, with operation at the nutrition level in several agro-food businesses; and the SAport Technology Consulting, partnership with FoodInTech Ltd., for the design, marketing and implementation of the latest information and automation technologies to support the Agro-Food Sector.
In order to meet the needs its customers, SAport’s services have been developed to support a continuous improvement, providing technical and advanced consultancy in the areas of R&D, production and management of agro-food products and processes.
