The Planeta Vivo (Living Planet) company is dedicated to applied environmental research and publishing.

In terms of environmental research, we carried out the Migratory Fishes of the River Douro Conservation Plan and the Environmental Improvement of Terras do Sousa Plan, which resulted in two publications (Terras do Sousa Rural Nature and Natural Tours of Terras do Sousa Guide). We also are implementing the Conservation of River and Creek Lampreys National Plan, two rare species in Portugal and one of their last habitats in the Iberian Peninsula. This project earned the distinction of the first edition of EDP Biodiversity Award 2008.

Publishing activity is dedicated to publication of popular science works in natural science, particularly field guides. We also publish technical publications and scientific works, in accessible language. The literary editions of Living Planet emphasize the works national character and prepared by portuguese researchers, not forgetting, however, the international projects of special importance in these areas. Planeta Vivo is currently editing in Portuguese the complete works of Charles Darwin (Darwin Planet Collection), a collection of Field Guides of Nature of Portugal, a collection of Portugal Biodiversity and other on Renewable Energy.
